And Techniques To Lose WeightTips and Tricks
While speaking about weight is not really the best thing on earth, I’ve really been enjoying each of the comments and interaction we’ve been obtaining the last number of weeks that the weight-loss series has run. Be grateful for finding the time to post here or on AOC’s Facebook page!
Today I’m going to a little bit more detail regarding the last in the five things which helped me to finally lose more weight than I ever have inside my adult life: the “rules” I prefer to maintain me on the right track. I realize these will not be the same for everyone, but many are just common sense things that I think we’ve lost sight of in our modern culture. The Things I hope you gain from these pointers is a touch more ammunition, as well as portion control and eating real, full-fat foods, that will assist you towards whatever weight goals could be.
*Note: As I was writing this, I realized I had 12 tips I wanted to share with you - plus explain - and that was making this post get way too long. SO, this is Part 1 - the first six tips. Try to find Part 2 tomorrow with all the final six tips.*
Here are the first six tips, tricks and techniques that helped me slim down (in no particular order):
1. Nuts and nut butter. Huh? That’s it? Well, they have been instrumental in warding off hunger. They pack a strong punch in between the satisfying fat and also the stick-with-you protein. The bottom line is to enjoy tiny amounts. Several ways nuts have helped me:
I carry a tiny amount of nuts with me constantly so I’m never lured to buy anything when I’m shopping and missed lunch.
I often eat about an 1/8 cup of nuts or even a nut butter granola bite with many tea at about 4: 00, which sees me through until dinner.
I add 2-4 walnuts to my granola every morning to the protein and Omega-3's.
I put in a tablespoon of peanut butter to your half an apple to get a snack or at lunch. I’ve found it will help the apple “stick with me” and I’m not hungry so quickly again.
2. Never eat out of any box or even a bag. One other one half of this rule tip is not really to get as numerous bags and/or boxes (which element of eating more real foods). However, we do buy things like chips or crackers (with only 2 or 3 ingredients) that we eat occasionally. Dried fruit and nuts also count- basically anything I might lose track of, I put in a small bowl or container first to make sure I don’t eat too much before I’ve even thought about it.
This “unthinking” eating has become my downfall my whole life. Did you realize your stomach doesn’t register fullness until about twenty or so minutes right after the first bite? Take into consideration how fast we eat inside our culture now…and exactly how much we could put away in twenty or so minutes. Yeah…I understand that “oh my gosh, I didn’t realize ate that much” feeling all too well.
Along this same collection of thought, at dinner I often serve the salad before I put other things in the table (as being a “first course”) in order to get us employed to getting a bit longer to enjoy our meals.
Now…do I seriously NEVER eat out of any bag? No, I’m an actual person and there are times I dip my hand in to a bag. But it’s the objective, and I’m often sorry when I’ve forgot it.
